Can it be done? of course. Do you want to? Probably not.
Curing concrete will create some heat of its own. With additives and some careful covering of the completed work you might get it to work. Depending on exactly how cold it gets, how fast, will determine what lengths you will have to go to to make it work. You may have to use the additives, then tent the area with tarps and the like and keep propane or kerosene...or some kind of heat going on the concrete for as much as three days. You must only keep it above freezing, it need not be kept any warmer than that, too warm is no good either. If you do it, you will want to use the least water possible. This will cut down on the time you have to keep it hot. Contrary to popular notions, concrete does not dry out, it sets up. once you have the water to the surface, you get that water dried up and you are alright. you must work the concrete more than you normally would, and this too can cause problems. So basically, unless it is something that you simply must do now, wait for better weather. If you have to, it can be done, to be sure. but I would not reccomend an ameteur try it. Hire pros from cold climates if you simply must get it done, and be willing to shell out for the extra expenses involved.

First of all the only good answer so far has been from tootal 11. Yes you can pour concrete and the additive used is not antifreeze. Give me a brake! It would be best as has been said to Waite for warmer weather.

put your footings in. just make sure you cover them well and maybe find a way to put some heat to them.Anti freeze will not do anything. Concrete companys put an accelerator in the crete in the winter to help it cure faster.

no you can not lay concrete in freezing weather.if the water in the concrete mix freezes.it would split the concrete.and when it drys out it would not be solid.

Some people put antifreeze in the concrete mix. You can put it down that way. My husband is a concrete finisher and he has..

better waiting till it heats up a bit, as the frost can weaken the concrete
