Any liquid with a pH above 7. these would include most soap liquids and detergents. Also Caustic Soda solution. While water is naturally neutral in pH, after leaving a treatment plant for drinking water, it has a pH ranging from 7.1 up to 8.3 which would be slightly alkaline.

alkaline is a liquid with ph more than 7.they re also known as bases

Depends on the plant. Some like a slightly acidic soil and others will do better in more alkalai soil. For example, roses and pine trees prefer a more acidic environment. Actual acids or alkalai solutions are probably too strong for most plants to handle if poured directly on them. A pH shift of two or three in either direction is probably OK.

alkaline is the same as a base and that is everything above the 7 ph level
