Kudos to you on this question. You are a person who thinks deeply.

I certainly do not think so. War is one of the most SENSELESS things in this world. Do you make me feel better by destroying my property, livelihood, existence? How in the world does that work?

The definition of war: 1 a (1) : a state of usually open and declared armed hostile conflict between states or nations (2) : a period of such armed conflict
2 a : a state of hostility, conflict, or antagonism b : a struggle or competition between opposing forces or for a particular end

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE IT WILL BRING PEACE TO YOU?

The definition of peace: 1 : a state of tranquility or quiet: as a : freedom from civil disturbance b : a state of security or order within a community provided for by law or custom <2 : freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions
3 : harmony in personal relations
4 a : a state or period of mutual concord between governments b : a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity

how does one bring the other? We as civilized people need to find civilized ways to iron out our differences.

"There is a peace that lies just on the otherside of war, and if that battle must be fought, I will fight it."- Unknown

Sometimes peace can only be achieved by releaving the stress that has built up. War is an evil that society needs to exist, for lack of a better term it is not only neccessary but also functional. I love peace, but realize peace is a paradox. Without war, there is no peace.

I don't believe so, I guess that is the way to find peace or just have a problem for a great while. But, if you want peace, then you must fight for it, no I don't agree with the war and why we are over in Iraq.

If you are facing a bully, and he is doing something you don't like, do you punch him in the face, or do you diplomatically try to resolve the situation?

What do you do if this bully is hanging you upside-down by your ankle and is threatening to shove a kinfe in your guts?

If your ultimate goal is to survive, outplay, and outlive, then the thing to do would be to fight back. If your frame of mind is that you control your own fate, then you will have to fight for it.

If, however, your frame of mind (and probably the better frame of mind) is to let be what is, that in the end, whether you live or die, God will take care of things, then you should always try to use the diplomatic route.

As far as America is concerned, whether the war is just a big show of "Hey, my muscles are bigger than yours" or whether it's a more sincere effort of protecting the citizens within from harm, no one but the president really knows.

In the end, WAR happens. It's inevitable. It's been happening since Lucifer and God and since Cain and Abel, it will keep happening until the end of mankind's existence on this planet.

War = a senseless act...there shouldn't have to be wars at all really...

Peace would be allotted by eliminating the judgments created by those that have no right to judge...the ignorant judgments we hear almost always is hypocritical. We need a more universal line of proven beliefs/faiths/values to eliminate the disgracefulnesses created by those that think they know who/what is right or wrong.

look at this way...

lets say you are in grade school and there is a really mean guy and everyday he beats up someone. That is not peace.

then one day, you stand up to him and beat him up. Now, he is no longer beating up kids everyday.

now there is peace.
