Because most girls are thinking that if they have a baby will be there for them to love and that the baby will love them. It is a substitute for something they are missing in life. Either not getting enough attention from others, low self esteem. It is their way to reach out and it only gets them in more trouble. These girls are not aware of what all a mother has to be and only see it as a baby. They do not realize that it stops their live as they know it. This is why I believe that they should have sex ed in all schools and make it a class that has to be passed. If more teens learned about the consequences of parenthood and all the other scary things like STD's and AIDS. I think that teen pregnancies would drop.

Most teens don't WANT to get pregnant, it's just a consequence of bad decisions. Those that do WANT to get pregnant are probably lonely and want to have someone to love them and depend on them.

Most often, underage pregnancies aren't planned. Straight sex has that effect, unfortunately.
Just because someone is underage- and pregnant- doesn't mean they wanted to be.
