i have the same problem. there is another vitamin called Preg-Vit they split up the mineral and vitamins so it's easier to take. Preg-vit is a little more expensive but it works. children's vitamins are not as good as adult vitamins. oh, Preg-vit is prescription only

The best thing for your baby is taking the Materna vitamins. They have all the essentials your growing baby needs. Definitely do not stop taking them for Children's vitamin's. The best thing to do is talk to your Dr. When I was pregnant, he offered me a different kind of pill that was easier to take, they may even have a syrup you could try. Best to talk to your Dr. before changing anything.

No, the main reason you need the prenatal vitamins is for the Calcium, Vitamin A, and especially the folic acid. Childrens vitamins are not the same. It's pretty common to feel sick while taking them, there are lots of sites that have suggestions for you to tolerate the vitamins better.

Taking children's vitamins is not the same thing because the RDA for children and pregnant women is different. Try talking to your doctor for suggestions or possible alternatives if you're having problems with the prenatal vitamins. Best of luck to you!

No you need the vitamins and minerals with the prenatal vitamins for you and the baby. set a timer for everyday to remind you to take them. If you miss a dose here or there it wont hurt but you must for you and your baby continue takeing the prenatal vitamins. It is so much better for the both of you. if they make you sick talk to you dr they have several you can try. Good luck

NO!! do not take children's vitamins. First, children's vitamins can make an adult overdose, it has way more in it. Second Try another prenatal vitamin, your doctor can give you special ones or you can buy them at the store but they make many different types, they even make chewable ones too..

I had problems taking prenatals with my last two. The doctor told me to take flintstone vitamins which worked just as well but did not make me sick.

As long as they contain folic acid. Ask the pharmacist and they will help you chose the best ones. I could not take them at all with my first one and even now 34 weeks pregnant with #2 it is still hard to take sometimes.

Why do you have problems? Do they make you sick? What happens when you take them? Prenatal vitamins are specially designed to have extra nutrients that baby and mom need during pregnancy. Talk to your doctor. He/She can help you with alternatives. Tell him/her what happens when you take them or why you have trouble.
