Is not helping the poor like buying an ipod rather than donating moral equivilant to murder? Think of it this way if you saw someone drowning then you would help them rather than just buy a flat-screen right?

I see that your mind is at work and I give you credit for it but I've got to go with all those who have already answered - you cannot compare the two, plus - would you buy a beggar a flat screen TV?

Helping someone who is drowning? What does that have to do with buying a flat screen TV? This is my motto. Fck the poor, they are that way for a reason. I will help them if I can but I will not go without because someone decided to start smoking crack and has destroyed his life. You help a poor person by giving them a job, not a handout.

That's why this world is not beautiful, desirable... People often talk about moral just for personal interest. They 'work' at stock market rather than working like a heroic worker at the dangerous place like battlefield.
If you buy Ipod, you missed the chance to buy breads, remember that you can't be a body, No, you are not a particular body! You are whether Jew spirit OR Ubermensch

We do have a population problem. Plus buying a flat screen TV puts some kid in Indonesia to work. So in reality the moral thing to do would be to let the guy that can't swim die because he is just holding back society because he can't swim and help the kid in Indonesia pay for his food for the week (he has his whole life ahead of him).
