I know about the 3-year rule, but other than that, what is the criteria? Do they just have to be a good dunker or what?

to be honest they just invite u and if u want to be in and say yes they let u. but most of the ppl who we love to c dunk dont want to do it. i think they should let the fan pick the players for the slam dunk three 3 skill competion and the player cant say no unless they r injuried.

then we c kobe tmac josh smith carter franics melo wade 00 in a slam dunk contest now i would pay to c that

They ask all the great dunkers in the game but all the allstars think that they are too good to be in it (LeBron James) and we are left with younger players that are not as well known. Which I think makes the dunk contest better because there is no politics.

They put all the names of the NBA players into a ping-pong machine and draw the first 8 names.
