I wasn't able to send my documents/apply for financial aid to Cornell before the Jan 1 deadline. However, yesterday they sent an email to me saying they would still consider me if I sent everything in two weeks. They had already received my online application (essays), and SAT scores. Does that mean I am a good candidate, or is this just standard college policy to avoid being sued?

i think that you have potential and it is very possible that you will be accepted if you send in everything that you need in those 2 weeks. the same thing happened to me when i was applying for colleges and i got accepted like 2-3 weeks after i sent everything that i needed in. it is nothing to worry about. you are in there!!!

Did you contact them about being late or did they just email you out of the blue? It sounds to me like you are a good candidate, or they just need more applicants to make a decision. Either way you have a good chance of getting it dont you think?

Cornell will consider you as a student if you get everything in withiin 2 weeks. Yes, it mean you are a good candidate.

Don't delay any action on your part - it could be that you're being offered a place; if you really want it, then go for it!
