IDOL Auditions- do the judges really see all those hopefuls audition??

Question

Do the three judges see each person audition? Even though I have read that the average audition time is under 30 seconds, it is still mind boggling if they see each one of those people audition. How does it work? Do producers weed out any performers?

No. most contestatnts never make it past the producers.

No, they don't. There's a pre-screening process in place that weeds out the obviously untalented contestants long before the three celebrity judges see them.

If 10,000 people showed up for an audition, and they were each given a total of 30 seconds to audition in front of the three judges, it would take 3.5 days to finish the auditions, and the auditions would have to run TWENTY FOUR HOURS A DAY to get it done in that time.

The guy Ian Bernardo (from the NYC auditions) was on a local radio station here in DC...and they asked him the question...

He said all the auditioners meet with producers of the show. About 1% (or less) of the total make it to see the Executive Producers.
And only a very few actually make it to see the 3 judges...

Yes they weed first, I think i heard mcphee say that she sang something like 5 times before she ever laid eyes on the infamous three...they send through the worst and the best, the middle gets weeded prior...

no most never see the 3 celebrity judges just some no name the only people that make it to them are ones that other people will make good TV

good question.........i asked something along them lines to my hubby last night.......last guy that came in to audition the number on his chest was 44,somthing.......44thou ppl came......thats alot of ppl to listen to
