i broke out the window in my car and i need to tape a plastic bag to the window..
what kind of tape do i use? iv heard that duck tape will peel off the paint...
what kind won't?

there is a blue masking tape that works well glass shops use it all the time dont leave it on for more thain 2 days take it off and re aply new tape if you didnt get the window fixed yet

For many years all there was to seal duct work was duct tape and the metal straps. Go to Home Depot or a heating supply place and get yourself a roll of silver tape. It is the same width as duct tape. Little more expensive these days, but it is the only way to go. This stuff bonds very well. Duct tape loosens in time. Have done venting for many years of different forms and this stuff works great.

Ducks don't require tape, although that is a brand name of duct tape.
No duct tape will not peel off the paint, but if left on for to long especially if it gets wet, the glue that is left behind can be very tenacious and difficult to remove.
The blue masking tape (7 day tape) is a much better choice for not leaving adhesive residue on your car.

anything strong enough o hold plastic to car while moving will rip the paint off over time
