Hello,
(ANS) OK!! let me say fist off I'm an old computer veteran, I've literally used EVERY version of windows since it was invented and available to purchase.
I have been using windows XP pro for the last seven years & really love XP, its been possibly "the" best edition of windows ever. Now I have just recently installed Windows Vista several times & I'll give you my honest first impressions of Vista Ultimate.
No.1) Here are a few of the things I really like in Vista:-
**The new windows Aero Glass interface IS very nice but is dependant upon having a VERY high quality graphics card.
**Microsoft have spent ALOT of time making Vista much much more secure as an operating system. They have done this at a deep level of the core system, this means viruses, malware & trojens (any nasties) wont be able to change windows because its protected. This protection is invisable to most users but finally Microsoft have taken onboard the crictisms of the past.
No.2) here are somethings I hate about Vista:-
**I hate the massive split start menu (YAK!!) its confusing & far too complex for my liking.
**Vista requires massive top notch hardware to run in anything like the way its designed to run. This means massive hardware upgrading or a new PC (ringing of tills???!!!).
**I hate what Microsoft have done to file management, its totally counter intuitive and dreadfully confusing. XP remains much simpler and far more logical in my opinion.
**Microsoft Vista comes with a large number of Microsoft program built into the OS, wheather you like it or NOT. This is yet more products locking users into Microsoft, making them MS dependant. What chance do other software vendors have in the face of this?
**Vista is massive and takes up a huge amount of disk space (15GB for the install) and memory (1GB is recommended) & CPU should be 3Ghrtz ideally.
I'm still in the learning curve with Vista but I have a duel boot system with XP & Vista. So I can learn it and get familar before I eventual decide what I'm going to do. Stick with XP more move to Vista, so I'm still undecided myself. Time will tell I guess but I'm sure many users will feel the same as me.
Hope that helps?

Well I dont have it but if you don't have a supported graphics card and a quite new computer it will be like XP but just a bit better. Keep in mind its new and so there will be security flaws which means until about 1 year or so you wont be fully protected as hackers will take advantage of these. But overall it looks quite good but Id wait a while and if your happy running XP keep it for a year or so and then either buy a new PC/Laptop or just upgrade.

The UI is amazing.
Resource hungry and no drivers / software available.
Over all wait for 6 months to get all drivers and bug fixes.
