This question is sort of like "When did you stop beating your dog?" What hate speech are you alleging was used and in what context? Your question implies that hate speech was used but you do not give the words or any link to any alleged hate speech.
In a free press operating in a free market, broadcasters are given wide lattitude in what they say. Otherwise Bill O'Riley and Anne Coulter wouldn't be allowed on television.
Would you like to have a "hate speech czar" that would watch over NBC and ensure that they don't say anything that might offend you? If you like that sort of system I can suggest some countries where you may consider moving.

I too would be interested in just what and how it was said. I believe that any free speech is better than controlled speech. Is what the employee said any worse than what bush has said? I would rather hear someone saying something I did not agree with than not being able to say anything at all.

When it is not ok let me know so I can pack my bags and find a country where Freedom of Speech and Assembly is Honored in.
You don't have to agree, you don't have to listen, but that is like First Amendment. I did not see or read what you are talking about, yet I still have the respect for the those that gave all to ensure that Freedom exists, somewhere.

We have freedom of speech in this country. It is OK for a NBC employee to use any speech he wants, but it is also OK for NBC to fire him if they so choose, and OK for us to quit watching NBC if they don't choose. Freedom of speech doesn't mean that we aren't responsible for the things we say.

I'm sure it's OK in the minds of traitorous U.S. citizens everywhere -- you know they type, they hide behind the First Amendment when they say something obnoxious but are quick to attack any one Else's opinion they don't agree with. That's OK though because the rest of us normal citizens will continue to let our feelings show with our wallets and purses-- hum, maybe that's why GE is discussing selling NBC?

Has your respondent heard of freedom of speech.
Has your respondent confused a "hate speech" with one he just doesn't agree with?
What particular "use" would a speech against American forces be to the reporter. Surely it would decrease rather than increase his chance for a job in the US of A ?

If it's just an employee? Yes he has the right. If this employee is an Anchor, reporting the news as a journalist? No, their job is only to report the news and leave their opinions to themselves. Unless they have their own show, then their opinion is valid.
For some reason, journalists are using the media outlet to voice their opinion. To me, they are no longer journalists.....
