Depends on your pain tolerance. The actual piercing hurt more than getting my belly button pierced, but an hour after it was done it didn't hurt anymore. It hurts, but the worst pain is brief. When I got my belly button pierced, it didn't hurt that bad getting it done, but I couldn't lay on my stomach for months. When I got my nipple done it hurt, but I could sleep on my stomach that night. The healing time is longer, but as long as it doesn't get pulled on or twisted and you take care of it it doesn't hurt afterwards.
