I got a fine for not buying a ticket on the train (the que was to long and my train was coming) my boyfriend also got a fine but he never paid his and nothing happened what happens if you dont pay your fine?

The answers can not be the same for all such situations. In most of cases it depends on the way and style of your answer to the officer. Mostly you can be left unpaid it he understand genuine reason. Only a payment of ticket fare may be sufficient and penalty may be waived.
But more important way is to pay something without Receipt. If I was supposed to travel on a ticket of Rs.100 (in India) and did not purchase it, checking officer caught me, who can compell me to pay Rs.100 plus Rs.150 penalty total Rs.250, but I offer Rs.60 and no receipt, which entire amount will go to his personal pocket. Always try this way, hope you will succeed like me.

You get further fines and legal costs. I'd just pay the 20 pound fine.
You technically can buy a ticket at one of those electronic ticket sales points (they are like touch screen computers which are hard to miss) or you could buy a ticket on the train.

i'd be tempted to pay the fine and buy a ticket on the train next time - if they do come chasing it'll cost a fortune with all the interest and extra's they add on

Hi, so why didn't yoy pay on the train? I don't know what will happen if you don't pay your fine but I suggest you do honesty is always the best policy.

there will be a bench warrent for you they will or can arest you if they stop yoy for something else
the guy with the parking ticket will be arested if he goes back to the state where he got the ticket and gets stoped for anything dont belive me dont pay it and find out the hard way

just tell them your indian and your waiting for compensation and permission from the tribes to put in there trains you will be shure to git wonderfull treatment
