Like the vast majority of immigrants that come here Isrealis consider themselves Canadian only in their location. They are more proud of where they come from or even worse where their great grandfather ran away from. Does anyone really think Isreal gives a rats behind about Canada? Except as a sorce of illeagal pass ports we are nothing to them.
The time for hyphenated Canadians is over. It's time to call yourself a Canadian or go home. And I think Mr. Harper should be saying it out loud. Comments?

Sounds like you don't know many actual immigrants. For me, some became real friends. I watched them go through the citizenship process, and believe me, they definitely consider themselves Canadian.

Why insist that immigrants downplay their ancestry? When your own ancestors came to this continent, do you think they despised where they came from?

Re Israel and Palestine, for decades Canada's official position was neutral -- friendly with both sides. Harper is trying to change that, trying to make Canada just an echo of the U.S. I hope most of us vote against that when election day comes.
