Sure!

I flew from Cleveland, OH to San Francisco, CA at nearly 13 weeks. The flight was 5 1/2 hours straight. It was a good flight and I managed it well. I just got up and walked a lot and stayed hydrated. Then, the next year I travelled the same flight with my then 6 month old while I was a month pregnant. And, I didn't even know it. I managed that one fine too.

Then at 14 weeks we travelled from Cleveland, OH to Chennai, India. That was a total travel time of nearly 40 hours. I did really well. We had two 9 hour straight flights (to London then to Chennai). Once again I kept hydrated and walked. I was fine.

On the way home I had a 40 minute flight from Chicago to Cleveland. That flight I just sat still. During a short flight you don't need to do anything extra. You will be fine!!

I have flown several times while pregnant. I'm currently 22 weeks and flew once at 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 14 weeks, and 20 weeks. I've never had any problems. The flights varied in length from 1 hour to 4 hours. My midwife just advised me to get up atleast once an hour to walk around, this can help to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Also make sure you are on a "commercial" flight (jet) where the plane cabin is pressurized. It is not advisable to fly in private planes or charter planes. Also, just from experience- If you need to carry alot of packages or luggage or are required to walk a great distance, you may want to ask for a wheelchair or tram to transport you. I did this on part of my last trip and it made a huge difference. You don't want to put too much stress on yourself or your body.

You are absolutely safe to fly when you are pregnant. The only time you cannot fly is during your last trimester. Then there is a huge risk of something happening. Your third trimester starts when you are 6 months pregnant! So, on that note... HAVE A SAFE AND FUN TRIP!!!

You will be just fine. It may make you alittle nauseous, but chew gum. It is a short flight.. have fun. It is more risky to fly after 25wks.

I took a trip to my grandmother in law's funeral that took over 3 hours. I was about 24 weeks pregnant, and had no problems.

In most cases, you only need to worry when you get to the third trimester.
