Probably 'Singin' in the Rain' or 'Fiddler on the Roof', but I also love 'On the Town' and 'Rent'. And 'The Music Man' is in the top 3. And 'South Pacific' has got to be in there too, along with 'The Sound of Music'. And 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat'. And 'Chicago'. Geez - there are too many I like. Sorry I'm not more help.

I think the best Broadway Musical is West Side Story.
Songs from this production include, Maria, Tonight, Somewhere, I Feel Pretty, etc. Many of the songs from West Side Story have become classics.

As far as movies are concerned, I think the best Movie Musical is Singin' In The Rain, which featured Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'connor.

However, there have been many great Broadway-Movie Musicals such as Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, Sound of Music, Funny Girl, Grease, Camelot, Fiddler On the Roof, Cats, South Pacific, Man of La Mancha, The Music Man and countless others.

It's a good question.

Hi! As always, I can't make myself choose just one! Sorry. I love all musicals but my favourites are:

1) The Rocky Horror Show/ The Rocky Horror Picture Show - because it's really fun, sexy and original.
2) The Phantom of the Opera - the music is really amazing, and so atmospheric.
3) Rent - emotional, with good music. Made me cry so must be good!
