Stretch marks are in part a hereditary thing...if your mom didn't have them, odds are you won't...I didn't have any till I had twins! That just couldn't be helped! Good Luck!

Hi there! I was also happy to find in my 1st pregnancy that I did not ever get stretch marks or the brown line. However, my mother did. So go figure! I did use shea and cocoa butter every day as moisturizer, all over the womanly curvy parts. Who knows if that helped? I am 20 weeks along with #2, and no signs of either yet.

It DOES NOT matter what you use to try and stop stretch marks, they are hereditary! Don't listen to people say use this or use that, b/c it doesn't work, so don't waste your money on all the expensive lotions out there that say they prevent them. I haven't used any lotions yet and i am 7 months pregnant and i don't have any signs of stretch marks yet (knock on wood), but i do have the brown line, but it's really light. My mom has stretch marks, very few and light ones though, I just hope I don't get any. I know it may sound bad, but that was my first question when i found out I was pregnant..."will I have stretch marks?" Count yourself lucky if you don't get them, i am!

I have 3 children and have no stretchmarks(except for my breasts which got extremely large very quickly with my first and they are soo little and light that you don't hardly see them) The brown line I got with 1 of them but not the other two. Stretchmarks have alot to do with being hereditary...so chances are since your mom didn't get them you probably won't either.

My wife didn't get many stretch marks with our first child, but she sure did get a boat load with the second. And I was told when my Aunt was pregnant with my cousin, no one even knew she was pregnant, because she didn't even get a belly. I'm sure that it's completely normal for you to not get any marks at all, as it is also normal for some women to need stiches after birth and others don't. It's all in how your body works.

I got both those things later on in pregnancy. Stretchmarks are hereditary based on how elastic your skin is but you are more likely to get them if you are the thinner side.

you'll probably eventually get some stretch marks- you're still probably going to get much larger the farther along you get. With my first pregnancy i didn't get the linea nigra -line and my areolas never got darker- however with this pregnancy- they are sooo dark... !!!! hehe
