His name was Jumakkaan Kiruk. He was the first to learn to ride horses. He did a great job and really enjoyed it after the first few falls to the ground. At times the horse yelled at him as well. He never gave up. He, in fact, was the first one who coined the term Yo Yo and Woh woh.

The Plains Indians were the first to tame and ride horses but I can't say any specific tribe. other tribes never rode horses at all, but travelled everywhere on foot. The Seminole The Hopi and the Mohican tribes never rode horses.

Both native American indians and horses originate in Asia, I think the one was riding the other back then, before you can talk about tribes in the modern sense. But, check out:

Probably the Apaches. They were noted for their ability to ride. They were known as Indian Calvary.
