Ethics is doing what is right, even if there are no laws in place to do the right thing. When you do what is right even if it is a loss to your own well being or profit to your company then you have done the ethical thing. Sexual advertisements, that is using sex to sell products has been controversial for a number of years. There have been many complaints about it but so far few restrictions are in place. I hope this is enough information to get you started. Good luck.

This umbrella subject has 2 prongs. You can choose to discuss either or both. I've been very brief, but hope that this provides food for thought.

FALSE CLAIMS/BENEFITS ADVERTISING

Is it good business to make promises which the product cannot deliver? Argument conclusion: A company may get an initial surge of sales based on inflated claims, but will find it very difficult to convert the initial purchaser into a repeat consumer, building a viable consumer base and long term financial health.

CORPORATE ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY IN ADVERTISING

This addresses the ethical responsibility a company has in refraining from taking advantage of the most vulnerable members of society -- namely our children -- by...

A) The inclusion of inappropriate content (sex, violence) when targetting a young audience;

B) Marketing inappropriate products (alcohol, tobacco) to a young, impressionable audience.

While this type of unethical advertising would seem to have no obvious adverse financial impact, after years of abuse, it can result in legislation that places major restrictions on product promotion as well as product usage and sales. Just note how the tobacco companies are finding their hands bound ever tighter!

Argument Conclusion: From a fiscal point of view, this is not good long term planning, as well as being morally reprehensible in the greater framework of personal and corporate ethical responsilbility.

Ethics in Advertising would be ...You must have the item advertised in stock. You could research "Bate & Switch" laws,
for example: A dealership could (illegally) advertise a vehicle that has been sold at a ridiculous price (BATE) and "SWITCH" you to another vehicle when you come in on that advertised vehicle.
There are code of ethics for advertising to children, not offending women, etc, etc. Check out this website for more information. Good Luck!

Never give wrong information. You may hide something or high light some. It is just like cabret. Never allow a man to ladies dance. Truth always prevails.

ethics in advertising is an oxymoron.

ethics:
tell the truth
check your facts
sell people what they want and need

advertising:
say your product is the best
convince people to buy something they don't want or don't need
