HTML, short for HyperText Markup Language, (computing) is the predominant markup language for the creation of web pages. It provides a means to describe the structure of text-based information in a document — by denoting certain text as headings, paragraphs, lists, and so on — and to supplement that text with interactive forms, embedded images, and other objects. HTML is written in the form of labels, created by greater-than signs (>) and less-than signs (<). HTML can also describe, to some degree, the appearance and semantics of a document, and can include embedded scripting language code which can affect the behavior of web browsers and other HTML processors.

It stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It's a language used to write web pages on the Internet. It basically uses a series of tags and expression to format and display information in a web browser.
If you would like to see what HTML looks like, right-click on any internet page and select "view source." This will display the HTML used to create the page you are viewing.
It is also used in many Windows program to display help files.

In computing, HyperText Markup Language (HTML) is a markup language designed for the creation of web pages with hypertext and other information to be displayed in a web browser. HTML is used to structure information — denoting certain text as headings, paragraphs, lists and so on — and can be used to describe, to some degree, the appearance and semantics of a document. HTML's grammar structure is the HTML DTD that was created using SGML syntax.
