Ruby, you are kidding, right?
It would take me three days of steady writing to list the reasons why I would want be in London.
First I would stand in front of the building on Orchard St. where my mother was born in 1880 and he mother in 1850 and the same bioding where the Orchards lived in 1666 when the Great Fire of London spread to their home and then back to the time when people didn;t even have surnames (except royalty) and so they were named after the job they did " Miller, Baker, Goldsmith, Tailor" or perhaps just where they lived like "Hill, Woods, or Orchard which is where my mother's name came from.
Anyone who was born in the old orchard was called Orchard , as was my mother. Likely they lived there back to the time of the Romans.
Then I would pay a visit to the Parish Church of St. George in Hanover Square where my great great grandfather was married
about 200 years ago.
I's probably spend all day walking along the Strand, pop in to the original Twining's Tea shop where an descendant of the founder would sell me a pound of Earl Grey just as they did when it opened in 1753. Then I'd have tea at the Savoy, just to enjoy the Royal Albert cup and saucer in which tea is served and eat a few of those water-cress sanswiches which haven't changed (except in price) since I was there last in 1941 when the first Canadian soldiers arrived in Britain.
I'd have toi sit and feed the pidgeons for a moment in Traflagar Square before taking the tube up to Baker St and see any new additions at Madame Tussauds.
After that I would go down the list which would take a month or so
and then, just before departing I'd have to see the diamonds in the London Bridge collection, see if the Ravens are still hopping about the spot where Anne Bolyn's head was cut off and maybe have one last meal at Wimpys if it is still there or maybe at one of the Lyons Tea houses if they are not all turned into MacDonalds.
Yes, it would be a long list indeed if I told you what I would like to see in London. And what an extra treat if you were to be my guide ! Ron

The main reason people want to see london I believe its how schools and TV bring it out to be- With the history on it and how old the buildings are and the culture with the Queen and all. But after being to london, and seeing all of the crap they showed in books. I personally if my BF wasn't from there I wouldn't think its worth going back. Its just an over populated hole thats over rated and way over priced.
