My daughter is almost 10 months old..and she only weight 16 lbs..People comment on how tiny she is everyday..they even think she is 3 months younger then she is..She still fits most of her 3 months pants..and falls out of her 6 months..I have to put a thick onesie underneath just to make sure they will stay on. She is a very healthy baby..and she eats like a horse..and she is developing physically fine..crawling, and even trying to walk while holding on to things. I really don't think she will ever go through the chubby stage. My doctor says it's healthier for her to be slim..and she'll even walk faster.

My daughter is the same way! In fact she is almost 3 and just hit 28 pds the other day! But she is very healthy and very normal! She was just always very petite! Some children are just that way! If your doctor isn't concerned about it then you should not be concerned about it either!

My girls were born at 10 lbs also, so being 18 lbs at 10 months sounds right on track. Mine were actually 19 lbs at 6 months, but as they start walking and crawling and moving they tend to level off or lose a little. And now one of my 10lb baby girls is 13 and is very slim so it doesn't affect future size.

as long as she is growing she is fine! don't listen to other people. when you have a baby people always think they are experts. my daughter has always been bigger then "average". she was nine pounds at birth and continued growing in the 99th percentile since birth. people used to say rude thing like one time an old man asked if i was feeding her meatballs when she was four months old.

she should at least double her birth weight by the time she is one. if she was born eight pounds or less she has obviously already done that seeing how she weights 16 pounds. your pediatrician doesn't seem to be worried, and you shouldn't either.

I think that as long as your pediatrician doesn't see any thing wrong, then I wouldn't worry. My daughter is "skinny" as well and has been from the start. As long as she eats, is active, and makes good developmental progress, I don't worry.

I would not obsess over feeding her or her eating habits! These things are what can later turn into a nasty eating disorder or an unhealthy attitude about food!
