Yes, I broke my nose once after tripping on a sidewalk and stopping my fall with it...
A- it bled like an erupting volcano
B- no, it didn't change the way my nose looked (that is, after the swelling and bruising went away)
C- it hurt like hell
This is a serious answer that should hold up to any debate!

OK.......My 9 year old has broken his nose (NO LIE) 6 times. He is the ALL boy kid. The first time he broke it he was 4. It bled a bit but nothing really significant. The breaks are due to football, baseball, and just rough housing. His nose is now significantly crooked. ENT dr says that if he shifts it like 2 cm to the crooked side again his nose will be clogged and he won't be able to breath out of it. He has a deviated septum (spelling) now but his nose is still growing so can't be fixed yet. They will fix it at about 16.
So yes, they CAN bleed but not spurt blood (my circumstances anyway)
Yes they could look different, depending how many times broken LOL
And no it doesn't always hurt, especially if your used to it, like my son.
Hope this helps.

My son broke his nose Saturday.
A- the bleeding was from a laceation under the nose and on the bridge of the nose.
B-His fracture is non-displaced,meaning it is still in line.
C-He said it hurt when he hit the steering wheel but now it is only sore to the touch.
Hollywood over does the idea.
There are times that a broken nose cold spurt blood and be disfigured.

Mine didn't break completely just cracked. It never bled. I was really painful for quite a long time, not helped by the fact that my glasses rest exactly where the problem was. Left with a slight bump on my nose. However the way it happened was far more exciting. I was sitting on the sofa cuddling a 6 month old baby, the baby jerked and clonked me on the nose with his forehead. and the damage was done.

My dad broke my nose whilst i was in a fight with my brother. He hit me so hard that it closed the left nostril, still like it after xxx years,
sprayed blood everywhere, all down my front too
Hurt, HURT, Hurt like hell but it didn't look much different from original, save for the left nostril.
but thats all part of growing up i suppose.

My husband got his nose broken at work,it didn't pour with blood but did hurt. He had it reset under general anaesthetic but it still looks a little off centre. I suppose it depends how its broken as to how severe the injury is!

I accidently (on purpose) broke my friends nose when we were kids and it spurted blood everywhere, really hurt her and it looked completly different afterwards. In my defence tho, she did actually prefer her new nose so it's not all bad!

yes, four times in my youth. I had sinus problems ever since. I waited 20 yrs to fix it and it was a minor surgery, but a major hassle. I missed 6 wks of work and still can"t breathe properly. reset it as soon as possible.

a) broken nose twice, never had it bleed.
b) one did and one didn't immediately - but the next morning it was red as hell and swollen a little
c) one did like hell, but the second time it didn't until I got to hospital and the nurse asked if this ... hurts.
Certainly wouldn't recommend it though.
