my hair is "chronically damaged" as my hairdresser said. She told me to use biolage shampoo and conditioner (which I bought from there) for colored hair. I am also going to let my hair dry half way and then blow dry the rest. I'm giving up coloring and am going to rarely flat iron it. How long do you think it could take if I get regular trims? (been coloring/straightening for 3 years)

Use the mildest shampoo and the strongest conditioner you can find. I wouldn't let your hair dry 1/2 way before blowing, if you have to use a hairdryer at all. Having it be 1/2 dry and putting high heat on it will dry the wet parts, but fry the air-dryed parts of your hair - bad idea. I'd look into this more. Use no hairspray or other drying products. Do not wash your hair every day, and NEVER use a flat iron. Cut your hair as short as you can get away with it and still like it, and get trims once a month. It won't take long.

external use of chemical like shampoo may further damage; try some herbal things and chek out which diet adds nutrient to hair
