Does anyone know of some roads in London (near Leicester Square) where parking is free on a Saturday evening and also where it's not too difficult to find a space? The more roads I have to choose from the better. Many thanks.

lol thats the funniest thing i've heard in ages. No such thing mate. NCP car parks or parking meters are your choice and they don't come cheap.

I'm sure it's quite easy to find parking for a bicycle

I'm afraid that if you have a car you'll have to pay for parking, or park really far and then walk all the way to Leicester Square

The closest to that I can think of is up in Camden Town, around the Primrose Hill area just north of Parkway. Then take the Northern Line down to Leicester Square.

Actually I do know of a couple of places that are single yellow lines, that don't operate on Saturday evening, and even a car park, where I look for spaces. I used to use them every other Saturday night a few years ago. but one time I did pick the wrong side of the road and got clamped.

However there are only about 30 spaces in total, so I don't want to advertise where they are here. As a hint, try looking closer to the river or closer to Covent garden.

Check http://www.westminster.gov.uk
You can look up the types of parking bays in and around Leicester Square. You will see from how few there are that it won't be easy.
