When I went to New Zealand for a month in 2002, I saw beauty which cannot be described by words but which can only be seen to be understood.
I had seen it in photos and magazines but only by being there could I feel the true power of this magical land within my bones.
Milford Sounds was the most beautiful sanctuary on that Island. I entered the country a pessimistic cynicist and left with a deep wonder at the nature of life and the universe and a strong conviction that there is deep mystery and connection underneath in a place which cannot be seen, despite all the scientific theories and Darwinian findings which dispute this.
I entered with a void in my heart and left with the most precious gift of all………hope……and from that I have built and will always have a place in my heart for that sacred land.

The most beautiful thing I have ever seen was the beach i visited in Goa (india) we had been travelling overnight on a sleeperbus (16 hours) with no loo on the bus. But as soon as we arrived on the beach i knew it was worth it.
It made me feel so happy

Yes watching Ken Stott (of Rebus fame) last night crying on TV when he was on that programme 'Soyou think you've had it hard'.
I would like to add that Ken Stott is not the most handsome of men but he looked like someone who had just fallen in love. He looked radiant.
It was just a beautiful thing to see and very moving. And I now want to go to Sicily. That is where Ken's mother was born and where his grandfather who had been a Roman Catholic priest ran away and married one of his Parishioners after being a priest for 27 years. Some man eh!
Probably not the sort of answer you were looking for but if you had watched this very down to earth programme you will understand what I mean.
EDIT: Also for me was seeing a new moon shining on virgin snow with the moon reflected on the sea behind and millions of stars twinkling in the sky. PURE MAGIC!

the most beautiful thing I have ever seen was this strange, bluish-golden-white ring around the moon. The ring looked like a huge engagement ring circling the moon, and it seemed to get thinner and finally disappear as it expanded away form its center, the moon. It sparkled, and glittered. The sky was dark, a million stars were out...it was a full moon, but it had this ring around it...and inside the ring, you could see a daylight blue sky. It made me feel a bit scared, a bit thrilled and altogether awed.

My son.
When I was pregnant; i was miserable... I was on bed rest from about 4 months into the pregnancy.. I had horrible baby-blues (before/after pregnancy).. I couldn't work, i couldnt sit, stand, or lay for long periods of time, & bled through the entire pregnancy...I was depressed & literally miserable.. then to top things off, I was over due almost a month.
When I had my son, I was in shock & awe at the site of him. I honestly couldnt believe it & since that day, I have felt & gave love like I have never encountered in my life.

The "David" in Florence Italy. Magnificent but unbelievable emotional. I cried. People were sitting all around the rotunda crying also.
Incredible that a piece of cold marble can elicit such emotional responses. Touched by the master's hand.

Top of the mountains on a clear day in Bulgaria. You could see these huge lakes and the country and other mountains for miles around. It made me feel so free and just part of the world, ya know?
