Well, I'm from Montana (USA) originally and there is a no smoking ban in public in place. We have TONS of bars, not really clubs, but there hasn't been a problem there. In fact, some of the bars actually get more business now that there is no smoking. A lot of non-smokers stayed away from bars because of all the smoke, but there's no need to now. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens there.

This has happened many times before. Some factories will go into other industries, herbs and spices come to mind. Others will simply close down. I grew up in a town that was full of abandoned factories from a textile industry that went belly up in the 1900s. Many of the buildings are beautiful but most have long since fallen into ruin.

There may be a smoking ban in public places, but it wont stop people from smoking. The factories wont close down, I dont believe to be honest that it will even stop people smoking. I am a non smoker by the way so not biased.

I hope they don't abn smoking.
Not because I want to smoke, I am a non smoker, but think of all the extra taxes. The extra people that would have died overcrowding our country. Unemployment from tobacco factories closing.
This country needs smokers.

Yes for the few years of implementation. Eventually those researchers who works in tobacco industries will find a way many different uses of tobacco plants. It could be in medicine or in chemicals manufacturing since tobacco is a plant.

The no smoking ban is needed. Those people,
however have enough money to keep themselves
up. There is too much money in that biz, for them
to go down like that.

They will be fuming. The government and the intolerant brigade won't care about lost jobs whilst they are on this self righteous we know what's good for you rampage.

What do non-smokers and anti-smokers die of? Do they live forever and consume lots of pension money?

these factories will turn into bullet making factories. The size of a cigarette in diameter is the same as some ammunition for guns.

Smoking is not being banned per se, it is only a 'smoking in certain places' ban. If people still choose to smoke tobacco, that is their choice. Just make sure they don't smoke in other people's air space.
