Having installed new ink cartridges In my Canon Pixma MP150 printer I find the 'ink empty' still shows although it is printing absolutely fine. How can I rectify this. Thanks.

All Printers monitor Ink usage and warn you when they think the ink is running out (so you don't run out half way through an A4 photo).

Since users can have different types of Cartridge & can swap them around, the printer has to keep track of each cartridge.

This is done by having a 'chip' in each Cartridge.

When the Cartridges are reused (i.e. re-filled with Ink by a 3rd party) instead of being recycled, the Printer checks the 'chip' and finds they are reporting 'empty'.

Canon printers will keep printing - most manufactuters printers will not. So using refilled cartridges is a lot more difficult since the'chip' has to be replaced or reprogrammed.

The only way to avoid 'empty' reports is to purchase brand new genuine Canon cartridges (rather than refilled or 'equivalant' carts).
