You can ask, but if there are no wages payments scheduled before the end of February they may not be able to pay you. If the mistake was not made by the Payroll dept, they will probably be unwilling to help too.

I work in payroll and if its our fault we make the correction as soon as possible otherwise it will wait until next month, don't think there is a law as it is extra pay on your basic but its not good for morale.

They can make you wait however if you insist strongly enough then you may get payed but you may just piss people off which is never a good idea

I would think that it is your money. I would ask them to write me a company check for the amount owed. Then, they can compensate themselves in Feb.

depends how reasonable they are.
Ask them what they would do if they were in your shoes.
If they haven't paid you anything at all, the you have every right to ask for full/partial payment

if they have paid you your basic salary, then yes they can make you wait for commission.
