I've noticed that my car will warm up, but when i drive it, it cools down. The radiator is full. Any ideas of what this is? I thought it was the thermostat but nothing has changed since its been replaced, and the radiator is too full for me to add the sealant.

Hey 6, It has got to be the thermostat! Did it get installed upside down? If nothing else put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. Check the temp. gage as you can over heat the engine.

I have a question.

What cools down? The engine temp on the instrument panel gauge, or the heat in the car?

If it's the engine temp, and it is cold where you live, the engine will cool down with all the cold air surrounding it as you drive it.

If it's the inside temp, I'm guessing your vacuum operated heat/cool blend door in the ducting is closing (moving toward cold) when you are driving, since the vacuum decreases when the car is driven.

heater core could be blocked or have an air pocket it depends on how old the coolant is may need a flush recommend to take it to a garage and find out it could also be your blend door may be stuck this will also cause this problem this needs to be diagnosed to prevent damage to the car a bottle of sealant will probably make it worse

anytime you are going down the road especially in the winter your engine will cool down tremendously. this means your car is doing what its suppose to be doing. when you come to a stop it will warm back up when idling but going down the road and the cold air hitting the radiator it cools down.

Possible blocked heater core. I would have it checked.
