Have a look at Pirate Radio, a software application that enables you to set up your own station. You don't need any special equipment, and the software is very affordable.

A radio station is a lot of work. A HUGE amount of bandwidth and a lot of time to fill. Have a look at Shoutcast:

You could also consider starting off with Podcasting. Podshow has thousands of tracks you can play and all sorts of tools to start you off. If you download Itunes and look through their directory you'll get hooked on podcasting

check www.shoutcast.com there you have the process documented and you can create a radiostation there .. i think you need to create a .PlS and upload the same to the internet.
