it`s hard, but not impossible.
it takes sacrifices from both parts, but if you both really want to, you can do it.
try talking a lot, so you could be sure if you still have something to talk about.
ask yourself if you can have enough trust, because confidence is so important in a relationship, and in a far away one is essential.. so can you do it?
and try to see each other from time to time, so you can make sure that you still feel attracted to him.
if things don`t work, you just have to let go...

im goin thru the same thing hun met ma bf a month ago but he lives in london i llive in plymouth, its hard as we both have full time jobs and havnt even had a first date yet, but u kno just take it as it comes, enjoy ure own life but also enjoy the fact ure bf lives in a different place, this can work jus put the effort in u can chat text on the fone, email etc and when u do meet up itll be extra special just enjoy it, who knows ten years time u could be married dont let him slip away good luck.
