OK, if we're talking ROCK then you have to take Basement Jaxx out (even though it's a good track). Mine would go something like this...
1. You shook me all night long - ACDC
2. Smells like teen spirit - Nirvana
3. Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N Roses
4. Let's Go Crazy - Prince
5. Ziggy Stardust - David Bowie
6. Paradise By The Dashboard Light - Meat Loaf
7. Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
8. Bang A Gong, Get It On - T-Rex
9. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
Not sure about the order - but I haven't got all day!

Ok I do not agree with all of them I would Put DEF LEPPARD- Hysteria , Bon Jovi,- Living on a Prayer, AC|DC-Highway to h-ll, Aerosmith-Dude looks like a lady, Joan Jett- I love rock-n-roll, Bruce Springsteen-Born to run, White Snake-Here I go Again, Europe-Final countdown, Tom Petty-Refugee ,Journey-Raised on the Radio. This is my list after much debating the issue.I feel some of your songs are not rocking enough but rock, it a wide range of styles and you probably do not agree with me about my list either but isn't that what the question is about.

Ok first point get the fecking beatles out of there!!!!!!!!!!! they're nohin but pop!!
Second point i LIKE the way u stuck basement jaxx in there. i know technically they're electronica but i always stick them into rock playlists too. you've got imagination and taste my friend but you should stick to your instincts and not let bandwagon bands ruin your top ten

here's mine

1. No One Knows - QOTSA
2. Thousands are Sailing - The Pogues
3. Paint it Black - Rolling Stones
4. Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash
5. Girl From Mars - Ash
6. Wild Side - Motley Crue
7. Thunderstruck - AC/DC
8. Hollocaine - The Frames
9. Nancy Boy - Placebo
10. Shame - Republic of Loose

PS I must congratulate u on not putting gnr on there.

I think Great Balls of Fire is annoying because it is so repetitive. I also do not really like Back in the USSR, but the rest are pretty good. Intead of those two. I'd go with Working My Way Back to You Babe--(was that The Spinners?)

And Windy The Association

Basement Jaxx-ROCK???!!!! Heart Break Hotel?!!! Love the song, not rocky enough for me though.
I think you need to define Rock. Out of your list, I would say Layla, Black Betty, but that's it.

My Rock list would have:
GnR-almost any track, love em all
maybe a Bon Jovi- erm...livin on a prayer?!
Metallica-Enter the Sandman
def Linkin Park-Crawlin
IRON MAIDEN-FEAR OF THE DARK!!! See now that's what I'm talking about!!!
Evernesence-Bring me to life
Marylin Manson-Tainted Love (I thought it was a very cool version)
Black Sabbath-Paranoid
Oh gosh, I can't think of any more, lots of 80's rock I like
Hope I argued well for you. x
