My mother has an Acer Aspire desktop that comes with an installed internal wireless network adapter. Im not sure if you call it "integrated", cause it's kinda wrapped around the modem on the pci card. I had no idea it was even there, I just found out yesterday. Anyways, it is a SpeedCom+ HPI56M3 (REN: 1.5 B), and it has no antenna, nothing sticking out externally, its just a sort of "box" right behind the dial-up plug. Is anyone familiar with, or use this adapter? Is it worth a crap? I guess I just need to know if it'll work with a wireless cable router about 40 - 50 feet away. thanks.....

I would say just try it and see how it performs. You can always replace it with a linksys wireless card or something similar. I have one in my desktop and it works great, even from a room on the other side of the house.
