and I keep telling her that she doesn't need one. we have just moved back to Lebanon, and in Lebanon women stay in the kitchen and there is a clock on the stove.
Am I being unreasonable or is she being too demanding?

Maybe she wants a watch so she can see it's time to leave you.

Fares, i guess u had to face the crowd's "grapes of wrath" LOL. Even Webby was like "you're making ppl think this is how they treat women in Lebanon".
I bet that's not what you had in mind when you posted the question haha. Good Luck next time with such a difficult crowd.
If it makes you feel any better, I thought the clock on the stove was funny.
Thank You!

you are bein unreasonable and a showvenist(SP?). Lebannon woman can stay in the kitchen as dictates their culture-but your wife is amercian. She has been taught she is worth more than being a slave to a man. She could be asking for a lot more than a watch! Did you think about that? Think of her and what she gave up to be with you in Lebanon. Pretty big sacrifice don't you think?! And all she is asking for is a watch! Men always expect woman to give up and sacrifice and they ask for something meager and get a brainless attitude like yours. Buy her a watch cheapsskate! While you are at it, make her dinner for once.

What if she needed to clean the rest of the house? Does she have to:
- move the stove with her from room to room?
-keep returning to the kitchen to look at the time?
-beg,steal or borrow someone else's watch?
- get a kitchen timer cos it's cheaper?
How much do watches cost in lebanon.....

Well for my opinion, your being unreasonable & she is not too demanding at all. Come on, there is a big difference between a clock on the stove & a watch that you can actually wear. Just go get her one, shes more worth it.....

Absolutely hilarious.. I Laughed and Laughed and Laughed! I am sure the wife has her revenge by all the abuse u recieved here and u learned not to play with fire and of course your fingers are burned now.. am glad to see all defending the housewife, it makes me feel safe to be a woman. Having said that, "Life" was right about the fact that men need lots more time for stuff or less time LOL so I guess its white flags eh

Of course she is asking for too much, i know that you dont wanna buy her a watch for these reasons :
1- So she cannot see how much time u take while having sex ( it seems like 5 minutes)
2- So she cannot know how much time it took you talking to your Mistress
3- so she can never know what time you left bed in the morning to meet the other lady and it will be too far for her to go to the stove and check the time.
4- So she wont tell you that she has beeen waiting for you for how many hours :D
Of course you are right!! dont buy her the damn rolex, i mean watch :P

Asking for a watch is too demanding? That's a strange way to look at it, it's not like she's asking for a Mercedes! You are being unreasonable, why is it a problem for you?

Get her a chain with a clock on it, as soon as she steps out of the kitchen boundaries, the alarm will go off on the clock.

I keep burning his food because I have no watch.
