I would say in general it is true. Probably because of the nurturing instinct in mothers. Also, at the onset, when a newborn comes home, some fathers grow to resent the new redirected attention away from them by their partner. "Over-mothering" when present and the following conflicts between parents, add to the issue.

Not all women do care for more for their children than men. But if you are asking why are children closer to the mother than the father is because women have a natural, instinctive bond with the children even before they are born. They hear the mothers voice all of the time from inside of the womb. Also, when after born, if breastfed, the bond between mother and child is strengthened even more. But that is not to say that women care more for their children than men. I hope I somewhat answered your question.

It depends. You know, when a woman is pregnant, there is a bond relationship connecting the two together. The child always hears his mother's voice and feels her as he grows inside her. When the mother is nursing her baby, this connection grows even stronger. But a woman should ask her husband to help her care for the baby (put it to sleep, sing to it, give it milk, tea or food etc). I think a woman who complains is a woman who has never asked her husband to help her in the education and growing of the baby, because both parents should be involved.

It is because of their maternal instinct. Women are more sympathetic, more nurturing, more attentive to their off springs needs, especially when they are still totally dependent on them.
That doesn't say that men are not geared towards caring for their off springs. However, men's caring is more a decision rather than an instinct.

When a mother carries her child in the womb for nine months there is an instant connection between a mother and her child. A mother has great love for her child because she has felt the child grow in her body, heart, and soul.

Its not true because I attend to our children more than my wife. The society was meant to lean towards your kind of conclusion because as they say, "it's a mans world" and they wonna be free to be "the man."

if in fact that statement is true in your situation i would have to guess it would be because men don't carry the child for 9 months and birth them.
