Yes and No. what i love about it, is that it has helped me communicate with people far and near and have gotten to know even people i would have never ever known and met, and what i hate about it, it has brought alot of fights between lovers and friend, also lots of cheating and our kids getting spoilt by watching porn........etc.

I recognise your point of view. Technology is - as they claim - developped to make your life easier but the contrary is happening as we depend too much on these gadgets. And we all know that technology tends to fail: crashing computers, dying cellphones, viruses, and the adiction to be in touch. Some people are adicted and obsessed by their cellphone and check for messages all the time. And they check their email every ten minutes, just in case. These people, when not being online or in the air, are the nastiest people.

Sometimes, the fact that people can get hold of me all the time - unless I switch everthing off, is quite overpowering. And I must say, even me I dont feel comfi not having cellphone reception. Wghere were the days that you only had a land line, not even a voice mail?

And not to forget an increasing sence of materialism. I mean, I am fed up of people who can only talk about how wonderful their cellphone s and what they can do with it.

I'm afraid I love it myself, however I do agree with you when you say about the cost. It is quite demanding to constantly upgrade to prevent being left behind and out of date.

I actually wish I was born in the far future where out technology had advanced even more. I may or may not live long enough to see such a jump.

I'm fed up of hearing about the ipod, but that's about it - I love technology, but I do wish I could live in a different era - the future, to see what else we can come up with or if we do eventually just make a complete d*ck of it all

Hi,Michael,
Don't panic- you're just growing up fast.
I take great delight in long walks armed with a pair of binoculars, just enjoying good old nature.
I feel much more like I've lived than if I spent hours in front of a 42" plasma screen or playstation.
Or though 30 minutes on the PC is useful for answering questions such as yours- it's practical.
You rarely pass ugly landfill sites full of obsolete trees and flowers.....
Talking and writing is more of an expression of who I am than this typing lark,too.....
Best wishes,
Misterviv

You have a point dear! Technology made our lives easier but certainly more complicated. I have wished to live in a different era lots of times, but depends where I would be placed! (?) In a palace or in an underground city dying from cholera...

I would love to go back in time - say 100 years - no telephones - no fast highways - no television or computers. A peaceful slow way of life. Rather like the Amish in US. Of course, the catch is the advances in medicine - I would still want todays medical technology.

Personally I would have loved the days before cars, they make so much noise and pollution its horrible. I suggest you get in touch with your roots, go on a camping/wilderness survival excursion or something, only use the basic tools and see how hard life must have been... Apparantly for survival in a woods the most important thing you can posess is a sturdy hunting/craft-knife

yes and I love tech and hate it, just depends. I hope to someday buy a cabin without any telephone lines or internet(no wireless) and just go fishin and chill in the woods with some friends and some strong drink
