You can purchase original shammy leather in many Auto parts stores they carry the original shammy leather which is the best, but really all you need to wipe windows off with is good old newspaper it will leave windows streakless and won't leave residue and is much cheaper than a shammy leather. Most are synthetic now and even those that are marketed as 'true chamois' are usually skin from other breeds of goat.

Goatskin is used for cleaning because it retains the larger oil molecules but releases the absorbed water i.e. doesnt smear them back across your window
