OK I HAVE HAD IRREGULAR PERIODS ALL MY LIFE AND I GOT ON BC FOR ABOUT 2MONTHS AND THEN STOPPED TAKIN IT AND GOT PREGNANT, I DIDN'T FIND OUT I WAS PREGNANT TIL I WAS 4 MONTHS. WHEN I WENT 2 GET A ULTRASOUND 2 SEE HOW FAR ALONG I WAS , I WAS TOLD I WAS 21 WEEKS AND 1 DAY AND WAS GIVEN A DUE DUE MARCH 13,07. NOW MY LAST PERIOD STARTED ON MAY 21, 06 AND ACCORDING TO ALL THE DUE DATE CALCULATORS ONLINE I SHOULD BE DUE FEB 25,07. SO WHERE DID MARCH 13 COME FROM? IS THA SCAN ACCURATE? WHEN DID I CONCEIVE? THIS JUST ISN'T ADDING UP RIGHT MAYBE DUE TO THA FACT OF ME HAVIN IRREGULAR PERIODS BUT IT WOULD B NICE TO KNOW WHEN I CONCEIVED. DO I COUNT BACK 21 WEEKS STARTING WITH THA DAY OF THA SCAN 2 GET MY CONCEPTION DATE OR WHAT? I EVEN TOLD THA DOCS MY LMP AND THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED MY DUE DATE OR ANYTHING. COULD SOMEONE SHED LIGHT ON THIS MATTER. Thanx sooooo much guys

If you go by your last period, you should subtract 3 mo's and add 7 days. Your due date would be Feb 28.
However, you should disregard your last period because you were so irregular.
Early ultrasounds are the most accurate way to predict your due date. If you got one in the 4th month, your due date should be accurate within about 10 days. And of course, babies don't usually come on their due dates anyway, so you'll be playing the waiting game with the rest of us.
Best wishes!

Some woman just know when they fall pregnant, but most women find it hard to pin point. The midwifes etc all have a different way from working it out, from everyone else inc the websites. I would use the date they gave you, and count back the weeks, and then give or take a week or so. It cant be that accurate, but its accurate enough as they use the baby measurements to guess the due date.
The midwifes add on a certain amount of days for some reason so you would be there forever trying to make it exact.
Congratulations and Good Luck, try not to worry about the conceiving date unless you need to.

Don't try to find out when you conceived. Even for women with regular periods is hard to pinpoint the exact date and for you it will be impossible to tell. Doctor get an estimated due date by the size of the baby according to the scan and that is pretty much accurate. Still some babies decide to come early like my daugther (10 days before estimated due date) and some come later. So just accept that somewhere between Feb. 25 and March 13 (or a little bit later), you are going to see your baby.

First do you know exactly when was your last day of period? the doctor is basing on the date you provide them. I have three children and none of them came on time, because I myself is irregular. My doctor told me that 2 weeks later or 2 weeks earlier from the due date is normal. was may 21 the beginning or ending of your period? if it is your ending then count 10 days after and from there it is possible that you conceived during that time. I hope your question is being answered.

Your babies age is calculated by the growth of your baby ie it's dimensions, length, organ developement & this is very cleverly calculated down to the exact day of its age. Even though you have the date of your last period it doesn't mean your baby was concieved on this date - the ultrasound has determined how old your baby is by it's size etc & when it will be due - they are very, very accurate. Hope that sheds some light for you.

The doctor's base your due date on the growth of the baby, not on your period cycle.

Trust your doctor and the scan. And really, you have to stop YELLING - it's irritating and rude.
