My CT betta has developed these red balls on the tips of his anal fin. I'm worried he may have an infection of some sort, as the redness is growing more and more. He's active and pretty good, though he hasn't quite adjusted to my food yet. I don't know anything about my water, though I use a conditioner when I change it, and I do water changes every three days. I don't think it's the water though, because my other three bettas live in the same water and are doing swimmingly. If someone could help, I would really appreciate it!

He's a marbled betta; I'll post a link at the bottom of this detail thingy. It's definetly not his fins curling; they're literally little red balls.

What color is the betta? Are his fins and body the same color or different? That might be a clue.

I know of no disease that causes small red balls or lumps at the tips of fins. Could it be damage or the fin tightly curling?

Sounds like you take good care of them so I too would doubt a water quality issue, but that can sneak up on even the best of us from time to time.

Add a few more details and we may can figure this one out.

my crowns get that -- i think its just like a little kind of fin rot that you don't really need to treat -- kind of like the fish version of split ends. i think you need very good eyes to even catch it. i watch them and they just kind of appear and then fall off. if they stick around or you see noticable patches of fin disappearing i would worry more but i really don't think they are much of anything or you can do much about them. i think its probably something minor and bacterial and if he is new its probably just from stress. put him somewhere where he doesn't have to deal with your others for a while and let him adujust.
