I have to send some mail to the DVLA and after what has happened today I don't want them to be alarmed by it. Any ideas?

Write clearly in big block letters with a felt tip pen on the envelope.:-

"THIS IS A REAL LEGIT ENQUIRY, HONESTLY IT IS, TRUST ME AND DON'T WORRY WHEN YOU OPEN IT, STAND ON ME GUV"

PS and by the way I want to thank all of you for the prompt and courteous attention you always give and especially for how swiftly you added the points to my licence last month.

I doubt the DVLA are abandoning opening any mail due to the letter bombs - just carry on sending what you want to send and let them deal with the aftermath of what has happened. Not your problem mate, stop worrying.

How many items of mail do you think are sent there every day?
Yours will be one of thousands and thousands.
You do anything different, it will stick out like a sore thumb, get people concerned and possibly be destroyed.
Send it as normal.

THIS DOES NOT CONTAIN A BOMB in big black letters. that should put their minds at rest. but put an alarm clock in it just to give them a pleasant surprise when it goes off
