Are bus companys allowed to call their buses green when they stink! And who checks up on them to make sure they are. If you have only got 5 people on a bus including the driver and its creating more carbon dioxide than 5 cars its not green.

The term "Green" refers to the type of fuel it burns and not to the number of passengers on board. Contrary to what you seem to believe a diesel powered bus may emit a more visible exhaust, but it contains less actual pollutants then an automobile. A "Green" bus would probably be one that is powered by bio-diesel, natural gas, propane, or something of that type.

it is classed as green only because of the fuel it uses and not the amount of passengers it carries.

If you think that's bad, try a diesel powered empty train.

0.4 mpg?

Off-peak, buses and trains are an ecological disaster area.....and they stink and they're uncomfortable.
