i am due to start back in march but today was offered a new job in a new company and so will start tomorrow.
You do not have to pay money back to the company, but you cannot recieve a wage and maternity pay at the same time or you will get in trouble with the tax office and will have to pay the maternity money back which you where paid whilst in your new job.
inconclusion you do not have to go back new job or otherwise but you do have to let them know as soon as possible(at least monthbefore you are due to return) that you have decided to leave.

Nope, at the end of maternity leave you have 3 choices, you can go back to work (full/part time), hand in your notice, or extend you maternity leave (but be warned, some businesses will not pay you for extra maternity leave you take).
My friend has just extended hers, but then she found out my boss (by law i think he said) does not have to pay her, so she handed in her notice the next day!

At the end of the day it is your decision, if you decide to hand in your notice and then you miss working, you could get a part time job or work from home!. My mum stopped working full time when i was born, she then worked from home until i was 5, then went back to working 4 days a week. When i left junior school, she went back working full time!

After your 6 months allowance, you can have up to another 6 months off unpaid, but if you fail to return to work for a certain length of time before handing in your notice, you will have to pay back some of your standard maternity pay. You may need to check out the government website for the specifics. Hope this helped

in case you're right here in canada while happening maternity go away there's a field o verify off in case you're going lower back to artwork or not interior the papers... so im guessing its not a concern.. i initiate lower back artwork on the tip of might yet will in basic terms eb staying a pair of weeks to flow to a sparkling interest. btw the pay isnt from the organisation..yet from the government. so it has not something to do with the organisation.

No, but that would just mean you are quitting your job. You should give at least the standard 2 weeks notice that you have made the decision you are not going back. So that would be at the 10 week mark. I would think about telling them sooner so they can have a chance to start looking for a permanent replacement to be ready to start once your legal family leave time is up.

no, but you may have to pay some of your maternity pay back depending on how good your employer is. You may have to give notice! It was hard for me to go back to work after having my little girl but unfortuatley I needed to because of the money!

no, but you will have to pay back the difference between standard maternity benefit (paid by the govt) and maternity pay from your employer.
