I too live in Ohio. I am near the Dayton/Xenia area. I am not sure if you are aware of a town called Cedarville or Jamestown, but I live in Jamestown and there has been a large outbreak of swine flu in Cedarville. Which is only about 5/10 minutes away from Jamestown. I am trying to avoid the area, and be safe. I carry hand sanitizer, a small bottle, in my purse and use it a lot. I wash my hands frequently too. My OB has told me I need to get the Flu and Swine Flu shot. Its best to get it because then you know if you did get it, you did every thing you could to try and avoid it. Some insurance will cover it some will not. I get the regular Flu shot tomorrow and I am scared. I know my doctor wouldn't tell me to do something not safe for me or my unborn baby, but again, people are dying. Pregnant woman and children are prone to it more because our immune systems are weaker right now. They say its all in the hands and one touch can do it. So wash, wash, wash, & sanitize as much as you can!

It sounds like round ligament pain. Which is the ligament that holds your uterus in place, they stretch during pregnancy from the growing baby and sudden movements, sneezing, coughing, or even a hard laugh can cause a sharp pain. It is usually on either side very low in your abdomen, just above the pelvic region. However, it may be something else so I would definately check with your OB/GYN just to be sure.

I suspect its your ligaments.....when you are pregnant they loosen, ready for the baby to grow and be born. I've had 3 children and the 2 last ones I had hay fever for most of the pregnancy...and every sneeze did hurt!..I also managed to put part of my pelvis out too. As I remember in my case it felt like a burning sting, which did subside over time. Hope all goes well. j

I am 24 weeks and have this too, I thought it was just because the ligaments under my bump are stretching and the strain of the sneezing just aggrevated it. After reading the posts above I think i am going to call my midwife just to make sure, I think you shoud too. My email is available in my profile if you want to email me with what she says.

I went to the hospital, they checked my baby and everything is fine, the pain is just the muscles and ligaments under my bump getting stretched and aggreavated by coughing and sneezing.
I hope all is ok with you too.

please don't ignore it ,the same thing happened to me and i delivered prematurely at 25 weeks and i had this problem since 20 weeks onwards it happens due to the weight of the baby on the cervix,so please go seea doctor and get ur self checked for entering into premature labour because at this time u need to be put at complete bedrest in such a way that least weight falls on the cervix,i ignored it to be nothing and end up loosing my baby,so please rush to a doctor, good luck

hot drink, yogurt, some vitamins, and save yourself warm to increase yr immunity, never take any thing more, and refer to yr Dr.
( hot drink doesn't include tea or coffee)
don't worry!
