I am directing a professional production but need to find a play that primarly revolves around younger characters. I'm lookig for a smalle cast and it could be a classic or contemporary. But a play with depth and subtance and should be well written.

Romeo and Juliet were, but that has been done a lot, but you could put your own spin on it.

If you want a unique one act ensemble of five to eleven actors I have "Three Tales of Moral Worth." Essentially it is an evening's entertainment in a castle great room during the renascence. The three vignettes are: "The Frog and the Gargoyle" for the children, before they are sent to bed. "Crystal Road" an English look at Joan D'Arc and her condemnation that is for the clergy before they withdaw for vespers. "The Flea and the Fishwife" a bawdy comedy to please the adults.

The plays are connected by the words of the troupes' leader. The plays are written in metered Rhyme.

A sample:
GIRL
(Turning Toward FOOL. Said very intensely.)

My love so bright, rides through the night,
to rescue me this day.

FOOL
A childhood's dream, a far star's gleam,
and all I know. . . says. . . nay.

GIRL
(Pleadingly.)
He rides this night, I know that's right,
upon his charger bold.
He'll ride through strife, to save my life,
for voices have foretold.

I know 'tis true, it is my due,
I've stayed my length of time.
You'll let me go, of that I know,
for life to you is mime.

FOOL
(Playing the silly clown until the last line.)
He rides an ***, my foolish lass,
my addled brain says true.
He lazes slow, no place to go,
his footsteps strode in glue.
His knightly codes, on crystal roads,
mean little to you now.
I be the mime, my heart's sweet chime,
and you be but a sow.
