It might be due to a virus infection. Otherwise some programs installed in your PC is doing this activity.

When turning on the computer make sure you turn the default printer on before the computer.

In some instances if windows cannot find the printer it decides that it is no longer available and will change the default.

If you computer isn't set up to save you setting when you turn of the computer that would be your problem.

Without knowing what OS you are using I am unfortunately unable to tell you how to other than it is generally in your systems tools found in your control panel folder.
