Area of a rectangle is length*width. (6 * 15)
Area of a triangle is (1/2)*width*height. (1/2 * 6 * 6)

Just add those together:

6*15 + (1/2)*6*6
90 + 18
108

Area of rectangle = 6 x 15 in² = 90 in²
Area of triangle = 1/2 x 6 x 6 in² = 18 in²
Total area = 108 in²

Area for the rectangular pieceis 6" multiplied by 15", i.e. 90 Sq. in.
Area for Triangular piece is half of base multiplied by height, i.e 1/2(6 * 6) = 18 sq. in. Total area is there fore 108 sq. in.
