Do these people think humping like rabbits is all that it takes to become a strong country?

It's not about numbers, my friend. Although India has a small percentage that is educated, most are just illiterate and poor. The country has very few natural resources. The political system is infected with corruption, bribery, and racism. For God's sake you guys have only officially abolished the cast system - AND ONLY ~50 years ago!!! What the hell are you thinking?

If any country will dominate, it will be the US along with Canada and Europe (unless republicans keep on cheating in elections). China could be a danger, but it's a long shot.

Because of the India is an established Democracy, it is unlikely that the many really bad laws that the uneducated poor think help them will be removed. India prevents its economic growth due to fear of imposing short term suffering on its population. The net result is long term suffering. The government of China on the other hand is used to makeing it's people suffer for the greater long term good. It just so happens that China is now putting in some policies that have long term good not just short term suffering like in the past.

It is unlikely that a Democratically elected Indian politician can push through the reforms needed any time soon.

Obviously you are totally ignorant about what the real India is like AT THIS MOMENT! Indians are regarded as the best for information technology solutions. The economy has had a 9.2% growth rate last year putting it on the road to be number two for foreign investment preference (including investment by US investors). The education rate is a lot higher than what you say plus the education quality in its private schools is regarded as one of the best in the world. The foreign companies - including the US ones - are looking for the technicians among the graduates of Indian Institute of Technology. A student needs to gain 90%+ qualifications in order to get into these universities of India. Obviously you wouldn't even be considered qualified to walk into any of the campus. Their are rich people of all casts. The untouchable ones change their religions also. So this system is going out - bery slowly, yes! Companies from all countries either have or are establishing plants to produce their products there. A few simple examples: Microsoft, Dell, Intel, Adobe, BMW, among many others are there.

To be honest India and America class themselves as one country. When i went to India the whole army got at least 500 push ups. They are hardworking people that are very intelligent but do not go to war unless they have to. But it is true most of them are illiterate. I am an Indian, and i do know that the government are working there a*sses off to hammer out the bend there. The education problem is also being worked on at the moment. Yeah and they are millionaires up there (not all of them).
If you are American, then remember that the Indians and Americans are actually working together and helping out each other. They just look like odd people but they are highly intelligent people. There is no need to be racist or harassing towards them, after all we are one.

Uh U.S. power is in major decline and the world knows it. The population is ageing in education it ranks near the bottom of countries with any development. The trade deficit and the DEBT cannot be over come due to the loss of manufacturing power, which has been outsourced expediently for decades. Health care is dismal and declining. The state of Michigan had some health outbreak and had to have a world charity that looks after Africa step in when locals could not perform. The child mortality rate in Texas (has most Billionaires in the world) is worse than a lot of third world countries.
The world is watching this violent Empire with weapons of mass destruction acting out, threatening and attacking oil rich nations witch it depends on out of fear...The empire has no clothes has forgotten how to get along in the world and nobody really wants the dollar to fall it would hurt everybody, yet Bush and the Neocons seem bent on destroying America. Maybe to make way for the New World Order?...Mary

I know that there are over 20 million people in India who are higher education graduates which is the world's first and largest.
I don't know what holds that country from becoming a super power, probably it is weaker leadership.

I do agree that India has not addressed internal issues such as racism, poverty and corruption. Us foreigners can see the whole of Indian society and we shouldn't apologise for seeing the truth. Some of India is advanced but some is very much in the third world.

And while the World Wide Web is a great proponent for the ideals of free speech, it can also be a breeding ground harboring hatred. This is very serious as the number of hate sites that have sprung up in the recent years is shocking and also increasing at an alarming rate.

Like it or not India is moving forward very quickly. How many American businesses have moved to India. This is why the rich stay rich. They have no compunction of leaving a country for higher profits.

You know India has more millionaires than your total population?
Indians are egoistic and if you challenge, they will auction you then and there in the USA. You develop and Indians will purchase. Your top Democrats keeps on visiting India with mouth watering deals, including Bush. India has the large volume of beggars, but those beggars are rich than American beggars. Each Indian beggar is a good entrepreneur. How many people do you have in the USA, who are truly originated from the USA? Saala baat karta hei....just start worrying about INDIA from now, okay?
