why do people hate wrestling? and before u start saying it's gay in'st a decent answer. people tell me they hate it cause it's fake but so are action movies like james bond and that dosnt stop people enjoying it so what is the real answer?

People think wrestling is dumb, they do not see the artwork of a pile driver. They dont' see the story line or as I call it the truck drivers soap opera
Anyone who watches it gets hooked. They do not get what they do not understand.

I have to respond to this even though I like wrestling. I have been watching this since I was 12 and I had a great great uncle who wrestled back in the 50's etc. I have to disagree with those of you who say that wrestling is fake. Yes, it is scripted and yes, when you watch someone kick another wrestler, you can see where they do not connect the shot but the injuries they sustain are very very real.
I am not trying to start anything but people who say it is fake don't like it and there is nothing that says you don't have to like wrestling but if you don't then turn the channel and don't watch.
It is not like it used to be when my great great uncle wrestled, the kick and ouches connected and were very real but that is the evolution of the sport. It is now sports entertainment but non the less, a lot of it is real.

Because they are just ignorant !!
There is a whole movement beside Wrestling in WWE, there are countries where they are really sportsman, where there has been social movements around wrestling, where wrestling cinema has been really important in cinema history, where several art movements have been based in wrestling, where wrestling is really a tradition.
People are just ignorant.
Just take this site for example, in this area you will only find questions about WWE, and acutally just lame questions, really kind of gossip stupid stuff.
If you log on into yahoo answers in mexico and search for wrestling questions in that area of yahoo answers, you will find more interesting questions, than "if its fake?", "is X stronger than Y?", etc..
So I guess those people just need to open their eyes !!!

I cannot believe that wrestling is classified as a sport? Nor, can I believe that some people who watch it, refuse to acknowledge that it is all scripted. Wrestlers learn how to fall without injuring themselves and how to deliver punches etc. to make it look like they were real.

i don't no why people hate it so much yeah its fake but they put there lives in danger at the same time any thing could happen to them people should admire what they do instead of just saying it is sh@t if people actually sat down and watched it instead of putting it down then they might even enjoy it

Well the "E" in WWE stands for Entertainment.That's what it is, whether it's action movies, football or any other sport.For sure it's fake. but it's all part of the drama, action whatever.I've watched it since i was a kid & have no intention of stopping!
